All designs are hand painted onto white silk using high quality dyes of a rich vibrant character. The kaleidoscope of dreamy colours will satisfy every mood and whim. Cool colours that soothe the soul, outrageous colours that energise. Silk is a strong natural fibre and sensuous to the touch, the ideal fabric for all seasons.

Fabrics

Each Silkworks piece of silk has a unique look. ART TO WEAR!

Designs for Scarves, Sarongs and Fashion fabrics are painted on Japsilk, a smooth tightly woven fabric. Designs for Coats and some Scarves are painted onto Silk Georgette, a soft flowing airy fabric. Copper Gutta is a resist medium which is applied to the silk to outline a design and separate colours. It becomes an integral element of the painted silk, complimenting the colour theme and adding a subtle highlight.

Some of the images shown here have been sold, but please view the gallery of designs and feel inspired. Just select your colour preference and the design look which appeals to you. The silk I paint for you will reflect the essence of your choice only as no two pieces are alike. The silk you order may be viewed via email before purchase if desired. Mud Dyed Cloth

Dyed with the ochres of the Northern Territory and embellished with surface printing. Suitable for Fashion garments or Interior Decor.

These fabrics featured have already found happy homes and are here to show you the look and colour hue of mud-dyeing. New mud-dyed fabrics for sale, will be displayed as they are completed.
