In 2003 an Australia Council mentorship awarded to Veronica made it possible
for her to study Shibori and indigo dyeing techneques with Janice Heitbaum a
textile artist from Victoria. The three months mentorship and studio exploratory
work practice culminated in her 'Change of HeART' exhibition in Darwin that was
a showcase of a new body of work.
Since February 2005, Veronica has ben the art facilitator at Darwin Correctional
Centre. The annual exhibition 'Behind the Wire' showcases the artwork produced
by prisoners under Veronica's guidance and includes painting, drawing,
ceramics, sculpture and textiles.
Veronic's work continues to evolve and now encompasses many textile
techniques with a current emphasis on the use of batik as a resist medium.
