about us

Veronica Priestley has created unique textiles in Australia since 1980.

As a studio designer in several Sydney studios, Veronica created original
textile designs for the thriving fashion and textile industry during the 80’s.

In 1992 Veronica relocated to Darwin where the colour
and vitality of the tropics inspired her to paint onto silk with rich and
vibrant dyes depicting the flora of the region. This was the beginning of
a long love affair with hand painted silk that continues today.

Veronica's textile work has taken her to remote Aboriginal
communities in the North of Australia, where she facilitated work
shops for Indigenous artists. The skills based workshops in
batik/dyeing, silk screen and lino block printing, silk painting
and mud dyeing were designed as an additional avenue for
artistic expression, alongside existing traditional
painting and carving practices.
